Why Did Charlie Sheen Leave Two And A Half Men?

Back in the day, Charlie Sheen was fired from Two and a Half Men after issues with Chuck Lorre. To be clear, Chuck fired Charlie because of the actor's struggles with drugs and alcohol. His erratic behavior was problematic on set, but Charlie also dissed Chuck publicly, creating personal issues on top of his health problems.
The two were reportedly feuding until Chuck later offered Charlie a job after he got sober, which didn't happen until years later. Charlie admitted that he didn't realize the enormity of his personal troubles until one of his kids needed him and he was too drunk to drive.
That wakeup call helped Charlie sober up, he noted, and he has claimed to have remained sober since 2017.

Sheen may have left Two and a Half Men in 2011, but he didn't immediately fall off the entertainment map. Sheen had various gigs on TV and in film, though none of those projects performed very well.
His last notable project was Anger Management, a series that ran from 2012 to 2014. While the show was reasonably successful, viewers only rated it 6.6 on IMDb.
But Charlie Sheen hasn't given up on his unique style of comedy, embarking on a standup tour back in 2011. While the show sold out within minutes of tickets becoming available, attendees to his various tour dates were not impressed.
Viewers booed Charlie during his Torpedo of Truth tour for various reasons, including when jokes didn't make sense. A combination of cheers and heckling rocked seemingly every performance, and Charlie has not had a standup tour since.
Sheen later appeared in a few other TV series, with a couple of episodes of Bookie under his belt in 2023.
In April 2023, Charlie was a special guest on a podcast, with the interview making its way to social media, but Sheen doesn't post on Instagram often. A website linked in Sheen's bio (sheenius.com) was inactive as of December 2023, and it's unclear what the site was meant to be selling or promoting.
Charlie does post on X (formerly Twitter), but it's similarly sparse; he goes months at a time without posting anything publicly.
In a December 2023 interview, Charlie Sheen reflected on his sobriety, fatherhood, and his journey to where he is now. According to Charlie, he is focusing on his children, including his teen twins, Bob and Max.
Sheen explained that instead of drinking first thing in the morning, like he used to, these days, he gets up early, works out, and spends time with his kids. He also hopes to turn around his professional life.
Charlie concluded that he's proud of himself for changing his life, and he doesn't miss "some alien version" of himself.

Currently, there is little information about Charlie's earnings or possible gigs. He was set to appear in a dramedy series in 2023 titled Ramble On, but apart from that, Charlie's IMDb is sparse — although he clearly has high hopes that Hollywood will come calling now that he's himself again.
